A rebrand already: renaming my newsletter
This year I started a newsletter on Substack called Proof of Concept. The idea was around the concept of people exploring and experimenting, which is derived from its name sake. There are two reasons I am changing the name:
1. The direction of my newsletter writing is more abstract and more around connecting and exploring
2. I'm going to be writing an ebook called Proof of Concept, and want to reserve the name to that.
From now on, my newsletter is going to be called "The Creative Odyssey."
Creative: Relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work.
I truly believe in the power of creativity, and that anyone can learn it.
Odyssey: A long wandering or voyage usually marked by many changes of fortune
The word odyssey really resonated with me in terms of the newsletter. The ebook is something that I'll do one-time, and a newsletter is something I hope to continue writing. I felt the word odyssey was more fitting because the journey of your life and career is long and wondering.
The Reader's Digest version is I want my ebook (Proof of Concept) to be more structured and The Creative Odyssey to be more unstructured.
I'm only 9 issues in my newsletter so figured it's a good time to rename it. If you're not subscribed already, I'd be honored to be visiting your inbox every Sunday afternoon.
